Marriage Counseling

Finding New Hope Counseling chooses to take a very specific approach to marriage counseling. This model has been selected because of the success that it has produced as well as the additional tension and stress it helps the couple avoid. When you call to schedule marriage/couples counseling at FNHC, the members of the relationship will be asked to attend a minimum of 4 individual sessions. (Total number of individual sessions will be determined by the two counselors involved based on therapeutic need.) Each person will have their own one-on-one setting to process emotions, concerns, and develop therapeutic alliance with their individual counselor. When it is determined appropriate, the couple will schedule sessions together and the two counselors will be in the session. In this dynamic each individual will be supported by their own counselor while the goal of the therapeutic staff will be to guide that couple in processing emotions, communicating concerns, developing new strategies, and strengthening the couple's relationship.

Adaptive living skills include gross and fine motor skills, eating and food preparation, toileting, dressing, personal self-care, domestic skills, time and punctuality, money and value, home and community orientation, and work skills to a meaningful degree, and to demonstrate that the interventions employed are responsible for the improvement in behavior.
